‘The Retweet’ of the Week | The Series
Posted by Nadia Vanderhall
A few months ago I started a series called the ‘Niche 5′ which pulled together some of the articles that really stuck with me over the week. I wanted to re-brand that series into something that I call the ‘ The Retweet’. Yes, the same Retweet (RT) like on Twitter. The difference between the two is that the ‘Niche 5’ were found all by me, while ‘The Retweet’ came from my amazing followers over the past week. Diversity in followers help builds diversity in your outlook on various topics and industry news. If you are building your network online or off-line, try to do the same – have diversity! Now on to the goodies – The Retweets!
Great article speaking to how PR Pros can capitalize off the latest visual trend- Infographics! Infographics aren’t just for Pinterest, they have been really bringing visual content to another level. But, there hasn’t been a true focus on how can this help the Public Relations and the Pros who want to take certain elements to another level.
This article focused on one of the biggest Social Media trends of the moment- VINE! If you have been under a rock you know that Vine has really taken video and merged it perfectly with social media. The outlet/ tool really took off during the lights heard around the world (The Super Bowl), and where brands made a major impact with the tool. Many organizations are using Vine, but are they using it effectively? This article speaks on how to do just that!
Social Media isn’t just tweet, post, or likes (as I say often)- it really embodies what the brand (personal or organizational/product) is all about. Many organizations & brands jump to Social Media without fully connecting their brand to their social properties. This article speaks on how to take your traditional social media to another level with branding! Great tips!
As the saying goes content is KING, so how does your content connects with your audience with purpose? This Retweet contains just that! Understanding the purpose of the destination your content is taking your audience will help them get on board with your brand. Content is only king if it serves with purpose, otherwise your content is merely your court jester!
Lessons that Mom taught us can be adapted to all areas of life, and in this case its Social Media Engagement. Engagement has become a major buzz word (with purpose) over a large playing field, but it holds major meaning. This Retweet links to an article expands upon standard lessons that all Moms have given (sometimes multiple times) to us over the years! Great stuff!
This Retweet has two parts, interestingly enough. There was an article speaking on how A&W Restaurant gained new fans with fake news on their Facebook Fan Page! Yes- you read that right. Some companies feel the need to stretch things for shock value = getting a bigger audience. Clearly, A& W Restaurants felt the need to respond to my Retweet! #HighFivePaw
So what has been your favorites recently or outlets for industry news? I never know what might come into my timeline, but a Retweet will catch my attention- as you can tell! Happy Retweeting!
